This would be my last diary in the United States.
Now I'm flying to Japan.
It's so hard to say good-bye my lovable places and people.
Thank you America. lol
Thank you all of you who I've met here.
I shall never forget my greatest days in California and Virginia.
I Love You All.
See you guys very very soon!

"The Road Not Taken"
OLYMPUS E-410
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth
Then took the other as just as far
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet, knowing how way leads onto way
I doubted if I should ever come back
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hense
Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference

Sky Plays
"Back to the 19th century"
Canon IXY DIGITAL 10
The sky danced in Virginia today.
I have remembered when I was little, I was saying to my mom
"I'm from the sky."
I would look up the sky from a swing in a small park and tell her
"my real mother and father are in the sky."
...I'm wondering how she felt about me at that time.
Hope she won't bring me back to my "real" parents...
I'm returning to Japan next week.

Movie -The Color Purple-
The Color Purple is an acclaimed 1982 epistolary novel by American author Alice Walker. It received the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Award. It was later adapted into a film and musical of the same name.
Taking place mostly in rural Georgia, the story focuses on female African American life during the 1930s in the Southern United States, addressing the numerous issues in the black female life, including their exceedingly low position in American social culture. The novel was adapted into a film of the same name in 1985. It was directed by Steven Spielberg.

"Don't say there is no discrimination in your country. It's impossible."
My teacher said to us when we had a discussion about discriminations in our countries in class.
What a clean and great society it is, if there is no discrimination...but it will never happen.
Discriminations exist anytime, anywhere. In some ways and in many thoughts.
They have formed our society and history, and they will make our future as well.
Sister, You’ve been on my mind
Sister, We’re two of a kind
So Sister, I’m Keepin’ my eyes on you
I Betcha think I don’t know nuthin’
But singin’ the Blues
Oh Sister, Have I got news for you
I’m somethin’
I hope you think that you’re somethin’ too
Ms. Shug snag this song for Celie (Whoopi Goldberg) and told her "you're something important,"
even though she was being treated as "nothing" by her husband.
Many years later...
If I were you, I would say yes, speak, Lord. Speak to me.
Oh, Speak, Lord. Won't you speak to me?
I was so blind, I was so lost until you spoke to me
Oh, speak, Lord. Speak, Lord. And hear my mind,
Oh, with your word, heal my soul
Oh, speak, Lord. Speak to me. Speak, my Lord.
I love you, Lord. Save my soul
Can't sleep at night and you wonder why
Maybe God is trying to tell you something
Crying all night long, something's gone wrong
Maybe God is trying to tell you something
Oh, you can't sleep at night and you sure wonder why
Maybe god is trying to tell you something
Trying, trying, trying, trying, I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying
Maybe God is trying to tell you something right now
Mr. Shug had also been forsaken and treated as almost nothing by his farther, the priest.
Everybody sang "God is Trying To Tell You Something" and appreciated that each of them is "something important."
"See daddy, sinners have soul, too."
I strongly recommend seeing this film if you have never watched it.
You will see many beautiful scenes and be impressed again how Steven Spielberg is a great director.
I cried a lot with this movie.

PROP 8
PROPOSITION 8 in California is a big, controversial issue.
I've been talking about gay marriages with some of my friends since Prop 8 passed in California.
Actually I didn't take Prop 8 much seriously because I'd believed that gay marriage should be and must be allowed under the law. I firmly believe, there is no acceptable reason to ban it.
As a matter of fact, I don't see the news regard Prop 8 here that much. This is one reason why I didn't know Prop 8 was passed in the election night. But I see commercials for gay couples here : most of them are Internet services which help gay people to find their partners.
They must feel bad that their marriages were approved ban by California voters (just 52% of them!?) and suddenly it became a "illegal marriage" again, but I suppose those couples are still happy to be with their partners.
Those 52% of voters might believe that a marriage is just for a man and a women since they read the Bible literally or just cannot get rid of their old-fashioned theory. I hope they don't discriminate loves among the same sex.
Now each minority is a big part of this country. There are no more majorities in this country. There are countless minorities in this country. The minorities form this country.
The fact the Americans have elected a black man as the next President still shows us the dramatic changing of the United States.
It would not be just a dream that a gay or a lesbian or a disabled person or an Asian woman (me!?) become a president someday.
On that day, gay-marriage issue must be no more than one of historical topics.
The history will tell.

The Victory
"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place
where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders
is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy,
tonight is your answer."
I'm Gonna Keep Today's Newspapers
I was listening to his winning speech on the radio while I was going to sleep last night.
Since his words were very powerful more than usual, I got excited and could not sleep for a while.
I realized that I'd seen the very beginning of a new, unprecedented era of this country.
I'm truly proud that I could experience this historic Election!!
"God bless you.
And may God bless the United States--- of America."
